Aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency, Mr. Boniface Ebeowo, has pledged to champion youth development and empowerment if elected in the 2027 general elections.

Ebeowo, made the declaration during a consultation visit to executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) across Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Local Government Areas, where he described young people as the “strength and future” of the constituency.

Addressing the youth leaders, Ebeowo identified closely with their aspirations, portraying himself as a true representative of their generation.

“There is no person that is more youthful than I am,” he declared, emphasizing his readiness to connect with and advance the interests of the youths.

He noted that his political ambition is driven by a long-standing desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of youths in the area.

According to him, providing opportunities and enabling platforms for young people to thrive would remain a central focus of his representation if given the mandate.

Ebeowo, who was former transition chairman of Ika Local Government Area and Broadcaster with Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC – Radio Service) also used the occasion to commend President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, whom he praised for mentoring and empowering young leaders.

He applauded Governor Umo Eno for giving the senate President the support and making the state peaceful for development to thrive.

In his words, Akpabio “has turned boys into men,” a statement that drew applause from the gathering.

Responding, members of the NYCN in the three local government areas expressed confidence in Ebeowo’s vision and capacity to deliver.

They pledged their unalloyed support for his aspiration, assuring him of their commitment to stand by his candidacy ahead of the 2027 polls.

The consultation is part of Ebeowo’s grassroots mobilization strategy as political activities gradually build up towards the next general elections.
