A senior military officer, Lt Cdr M Buba, was tragically killed in Kaduna on June 25 when he was attacked and stabbed by an unknown assailant at a bus stop near Kawo flyover bridge.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when the officer’s car had a flat tire, and he stopped to change it. The assailant demanded his phone, but when he refused, he was stabbed in the chest. A local vigilante who tried to intervene was also stabbed but survived.
The assailant was overpowered and killed by nearby people. Lt Cdr Buba was rushed to Manaal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body has been taken to 44 NARHK mortuary.
Authorities have launched a security operation to identify and apprehend any other miscreants in the area. The incident has raised concerns about safety in Kaduna Metropolis.
