Police Rescue Two Kidnapped Victims, Arrest Eight Suspects, Recover Arms in Nationwide Security Crackdown

lIn a major breakthrough in the ongoing fight against violent crimes, cultism, arms trafficking, and kidnapping, the Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant successes across Delta, Katsina, Adamawa, and Edo States. The series of operations, driven by intelligence-led policing, resulted in the rescue of two kidnap victims, arrest of eight suspects, and recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition.

In Edo State, two victims—Godday Irieude and Wisdom Emeka—were abducted from their farm in Ewatto at about 1:00 AM on June 26, 2025. Acting swiftly, police operatives, in collaboration with local vigilante groups, traced the kidnappers to their hideout. A fierce gun duel ensued, forcing the criminals to flee with gunshot wounds, while the victims were rescued unhurt.
