Akwa Ibom Police Command has arrested five suspected cultists and armed robbers linked to a shocking home invasion, robbery, and rape incident at a guest house in Abak.

The victim, name withheld reported that, armed men broke into his guest room, robbed him, and raped his female guest.

Acting on the directive from CP Baba Mohammed Azare, operatives swiftly moved in and conducted a late night raid on July 30 around 11:10 PM that led to the arrest of the following suspects; Richard Edet Udo, Hope Unibong Anietie, Joseph Ibongidi, Christian Joseph Johnny and Joseph Joseph, all males.

The Police, during the raid recovered items from a suspected shrine, including; two small coffins, used female sanitary pads, photographs of individuals and other fetish items.

Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO), DSP Timfon John in a statement made available to the media confirmed the operation and added that, other accomplices are still on the run.

The Police Command further reassured the public of its zero-tolerance for crime and urges everyone to remain alert and report suspicious activity to the police.
