The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a wanted kidnap kingpin, Okon Asuquo Udo, in Ube village, Okobo LGA.
According to Akwa Ibom Police Command spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, Udo has been on the run for months and is linked to several crimes including the abduction of a Paramount Ruler in October 2024.
Others are; the kidnapping of an Executive Chairman’s wife in November 2024 among other kidnappings across Oron, Mbo and Okobo LGAs.
Reports say, he was finally tracked down and captured on August 13, 2025 following credible intelligence.
Police Spokesperson, DSP John further said investigations are ongoing to arrest other gang members and recover weapons.
