A passenger on Ibom Air, Comfort Emmanson, has narrated a harrowing experience she allegedly suffered at the hands of a flight attendant during a trip from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025.
According to her account, trouble began when a hostess identified as Juliana instructed passengers to switch off their phones before take-off.
Emmanson, who had two phones, said she struggled with one of the devices which was faulty and could not power down.
“A man sitting close to me helped switch off one of the phones, while I battled with the other. I begged Juliana to assist but she refused.
“Eventually, the man helped again. As Juliana was walking away, she looked at me and said, ‘YOU WILL SEE’. I didn’t take it seriously,” she recounted.
She explained that upon arrival in Lagos, after using the aircraft’s toilet, she attempted to disembark but was allegedly blocked by the hostess. Feeling harassed, she began recording the encounter on her phone.
“She noticed I had recorded her and suddenly attacked me, pushing me back inside the plane, dragging my hair frontal, tearing my clothes, yanking my jewelry, and smashing my phones.
“The pain from the hair she pulled made me lose control, and I poked my fingers at her face asking why she did that. She then began calling me a prostitute,” Emmanson alleged.
The passenger further claimed that airport staff joined in dragging her out of the plane, during which her clothes were torn off, leaving her exposed.
“They surrounded me, pulled my clothes, and my body was out there while they recorded me.
“Those videos were later circulated on social media. I am traumatized, ashamed to go out because everyone has seen my body. They even turned it into WhatsApp stickers,” she lamented.
Emmanson, who describes herself as a real estate professional, said the incident has damaged her reputation and left her psychologically broken.
“How do I face clients, or think about marriage, when my nakedness is all over the internet? My unborn children will grow up to see this. I am still undergoing hospital treatment. I never expected this kind of treatment. I am not a troublemaker,” she said in tears.
