A’Ibom: Midim Notorious Vandal In Police Net

Police operatives in Akwa Ibom State have apprehended a suspected notorious vandal in Midim Waterside, Abak Local Government following an intelligence decisive operation.

A statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Timfon John said, the suspect, identified as 23 year-old God’stime Emmanuel James, had been on police watchlist for his alleged involvement in the vandalization of school facilities and private residences in the community.

According to the PPRO, officers acted on credible information and stormed the suspect’s hideout around 9:30 p.m.

“Upon arrival, James was sighted with several unidentified accomplices. While others fled into a nearby creek on sighting the patrol team, James was successfully arrested.

“During the operation, police recovered exhibits including a small handbag containing dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, four door handles, a mini flashlight, and several broken door lock parts believed to have been stolen during acts of vandalism”.

 

She maintained that, the suspect is in custody and will face prosecution upon completion of investigations, and called on the residents who have recently suffered vandalism in the area to come forward and provide statements to assist in the ongoing probe.

“The arrest of James is a breakthrough in the Command’s resolve to rid our communities of criminal elements,” DSP John stated, assuring that efforts are underway to track down his fleeing accomplices”.
