FG Declares Free Education In Technical Colleges Nation-wide

Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa has said that, the federal government has declared Free education in Federal Technical Colleges Nation-wide with immediate effect.

The announcement, which came as a surprise package to Nigerians on Wednesday in Abuja the Minister said, covers boarding, books, uniforms, healthcare etc.

The sweeping policy shift set to transform access to technical education across Nigeria, is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu administration.

He said, “the Federal Government has declared that all Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs) will now offer completely free education with no fees, no hidden charges.

“The initiative is in full alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This is not just about waiving tuition. The Federal Government will shoulder all education-related expenses; boarding, uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, prospectus, identity cards, vocational tools, digital learning aids, utilities, security, medical services, and even student insurance”.

Dr. Alausa stated that, the comprehensive package aims to eliminate financial barriers and promote equal access to quality technical education for Nigerian youths, regardless of background or location.

“This marks a new era for technical education in Nigeria. No child should be denied the opportunity to acquire skills because of inability to pay.”
