In a sweeping administrative decision, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pst. Umo Bassey Eno has dissolved all full-time, part-time statutory, non-statutory boards and commissions across the state, effective Thursday October 3, 2025.
The directive, issued under the powers granted by Section 6 of the Statutory Boards (Special Provisions) Law 2023, was announced through a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah.
Governor Eno expressed gratitude to the outgoing chairmen and members of the various boards and commissions for their service and contributions to the state’s ARISE Agenda, and also extended his best wishes to them in their future endeavors.
Affected officials have been instructed to hand over all government property in their custody to the most senior civil servant within their respective boards or commissions.
The dissolution marks a significant restructuring effort by the Eno administration, as it continues to consolidate governance and streamline state operations.
