The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State on Saturday held a coordinated Special Meeting across all 31 Local Government Areas.
The exercise tagged, “Home-Going Weekend” and convened at the directive of Governor Umo Eno, was characterised by speeches and strategic engagement, aimed to reinforce party structures, deepen internal cohesion, and re-energise membership ahead of coming political cycles.

Across the state, stakeholders used the opportunity to reflect on the party’s wellbeing, validate membership registers, strategize for growth, and woo new entrants into the APC fold.
The message was consistent: members must return to their political roots in their wards and LGAs, while maintaining united support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno.
Mkpat Enin Declares Solidarity:
In Mkpat Enin LGA, where APC Chapter Chairman Hon. Utitofon Jeremiah presided, speakers reaffirmed their loyalty to the President, Senate President, and Governor.
Declaring the meeting open, Jeremiah said the gathering demonstrated that, “Mkpat Enin is ready to support the State Governor Umo Eno, President Tinubu, Senate President Goodwill Akpabio, the Local Government Chairman, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang and every other person in the party.”
He commended members for turning out in obedience to the Governor’s call, but warned political appointees who had yet to register formally with the APC.

According to him, “Dressing for party events without validating their membership, was unacceptable”.
Jeremiah also condemned the refusal of a sitting Councillor to register with the party, insisting that anyone holding political office must lead by example.
He cautioned youths against insulting Elders or party leaders on social media, promising disciplinary measures for future infractions.
Ward chairmen were directed to safeguard party registers ahead of an impending verification exercise.
Stakeholders Push for Discipline, Unity:
Several stakeholders, including Senator Ekong Sampson; Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga; former House of Reps member Hon. Bernard Udoh; and LG Chairman Hon. Emmanuel Inyang took turns affirming loyalty to President Tinubu and Senate President Akpabio.
Senator Sampson stressed the need for strict internal discipline to prevent factionalism, noting that behaviour once associated with the PDP must not be repeated in the APC.
“We should have a new APC without faction and no blackmail,” he declared, urging members to stay united and committed ahead of 2027.
Critical stakeholder, Engr. Otobong Ndem described the gathering as “an amalgamation of political interest” and proclaimed that Mkpat Enin now firmly belongs to the APC.
He assured party members that, the LGA would support Governor Eno for eight years and deliver solidly for the party in the next general elections.

State Chairman Hails Meeting as Strategic Moment:APC State Chairman, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, said the simultaneous meetings across Akwa Ibom marked a critical moment in the life of the party.
He praised Governor Eno for creating the enabling environment for the “Home-Going Weekend” and encouraged members to shun blackmail, backbiting, and all forms of divisive conduct.
Ntukekpo applauded the Mkpat Enin Chapter leadership for a successful outing and stressed that, unity remains the party’s strongest weapon moving forward.
