Stop The Lies: APC Fires Back At Michael Bush

The Foundational Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have taken strong exception to a recent, error-ridden write-up by Michael Bush, an individual who now parades himself as an adviser-in-chief to Governor Umo Eno.

His publication is a cocktail of arrogance, falsehood, and poorly disguised bitterness.

First, Mr. Bush’s laughable claim of playing a “frontline role” in Governor Eno’s 2023 victory demands evidence. What exactly did he do? Where and when? Until he answers these basic questions, his noise is nothing more than empty chest-thumping.

His anger over Governor Eno’s decision to leave the PDP for the APC exposes a shallow understanding of democratic freedom.

Governor Eno is not Mr. Bush’s political hostage. He is a free citizen who chose to align with a party that fits his development vision. That decision needs no permission and certainly no apology.

The claim that the Governor has neglected Nsit Ubium and Akwa Ibom people is outright false. Roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and infrastructure projects across the state speak louder than Bush’s fabricated narratives.

Calling the Governor a “poverty spreader” is not only reckless, it is dishonest. Under the ARISE Agenda, thousands of Akwa Ibomites are benefitting from skills training, agricultural empowerment, and microfinance support.

These are real programmes with real beneficiaries, not the imaginary failures Bush peddles.

His attack on the Governor’s communication style is equally hollow. Governor Eno speaks clearly, listens attentively, and governs responsibly; qualities far superior to the grandstanding some commentators mistake for leadership.

Mr. Bush’s additional allegations on legacy projects, civil servants, contractors collapse on contact with facts. Salaries have been increased, pension arrears cleared, infrastructure is expanding, and contractors are being paid for quality work nothing more, nothing less.

We advise Michael Bush to stop spreading lies and distortions. His propaganda cannot undermine the visible progress Akwa Ibom people are witnessing daily.

Governor Umo Eno remains focused, steady, and committed to driving the state forward despite the loud distractions from those who contributed nothing, did nothing, and now want to claim everything.

If we may ask, “What does Michael Bush really want; Nsit Ubium or Uruan?”
