Akwa Ibom State Commissioner, CP Baba Mohammed Azare on Tuesday received the leadership of the Youth Partnership for Africa’s Development (YOUPAD) on advocacy visit at the State Police HeadquartelThe delegation led by the President of the organisation, Mr. Henry Nkem explained YOUPAD to be Pan-African youth body dedicated to building leadership and entrepreneurial capacity among African youths.
Mr. Nkem said, the organisation’s mission is contributing meaningfully to Africa’s integrated development, peace, and prosperity in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
He further disclosed the major focus of YOUPAD as identification, recognition, and promotion of African leaders, who demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and selfless service to humanity.
The organisation also presented Instrument of Commendation to CP Azare and conferred on him the Thomas Sankara Pan-African Selfless Leadership Award for Excellence in recognition of his exemplary leadership, institutional reforms, commitment to officers’ welfare, and remarkable achievements in crime prevention, security enhancement, and the securing of convictions in Akwa Ibom State.
He CP Azare’s policing efforts have significantly improved public safety and strengthened public confidence in the Police Command.
CP Azare in his remarks, expressed gratitude to YOUPAD for the visit and the honour noting that, the engagement of responsible and visionary youth organisations is vital to national and continental development

“Your focus on leadership development, entrepreneurship, and Pan-African collaboration is commendable and aligns with the broader objectives of societal progress, peace, and security”, CP Azare said.
He urged young people to remain law-abiding, while they channel their energies into productive ventures, and act as ambassadors of peace, innovation, and positive change within their communities.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Akwa Ibom State Police Command’s unwavering commitment to community partnership and its resolve to continue safeguarding lives and property across the state.
