The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the deployment of its personnel across all centres hosting the ongoing Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations, assuring candidates of a safe and hitch-free exercise.
This is coming on the heels of official statement hitherto issued by JAMB that security surveillance has been tightened around the CBT centers nationwide to forestall any infraction or breaches throughout the period of the examination.
In a statement announced to newsmen and available to the public, the Command emphasized its commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the examination period, noting that officers have been strategically positioned at all designated centres, with surveillance operations actively ongoing to forestall any security breaches.
The Police issued a stern warning to bystanders and individuals without legitimate business at the venues to stay away, stressing that anyone found loitering, attempting to disrupt the process, or engaging in examination malpractice would be promptly arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Parents and guardians were also advised to drop off their wards and avoid congregating around examination centres, as access to the premises would be strictly limited to accredited candidates, examination officials, and authorized personnel.
Reaffirming its resolve to safeguard the integrity of the examination process, the Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Timfon John urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through its emergency communication lines.
The statement further reassured residents of the Command’s readiness to ensure a peaceful environment, while wishing all candidates success in their examinations.
