Several JAMB Candidates Killed In Oyo-Ogbomoso Road Crash While Going For UTME

A tragic accident on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Oyo State has claimed the lives of several students who were on their way to sit for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. The incident occurred on Saturday morning and involved a commercial vehicle conveying the students to a JAMB center in Ogbomoso. According to eyewitnesses, the crash happened due to brake failure.

Meanwhile, JAMB has reported that it has arrested 27 impersonators in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and handed them over to the police for prosecution. The board also announced the delisting of four Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers that failed to meet technical standards.

JAMB commended 883 centers that demonstrated exceptional performance and warned that any center failing to meet ethical or technical standards would be blacklisted. Candidates previously scheduled to take exams at the delisted centers were advised to reprint their examination notification slips for new centers and dates.

As of April 25, 2025, over 900,000 candidates had completed the UTME out of 2,083,600 registered for the 2025 examination.
