ABUJA – The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands and strategic formations across the country as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness, enhance leadership, and deepen reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
The deployment, which followed the approval of the Police Service Commission (PSC), is aimed at consolidating the Force’s ongoing repositioning strategy through improved intelligence-led policing, professionalism, and enhanced service delivery.
Under the new postings, CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo has been deployed to Abia State Command, while CP Ayodeji Faniyan takes charge in Plateau. CP Saka Adewale Ajao was posted to Bayelsa, CP Ajo Geofrey Ordue to Cross River, CP Nanna Oji Ama to Anambra, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo, CP Tani Murtala to Jigawa, and CP Samuel Erale to Delta State Command.
The IGP also approved the redeployment of several senior officers to key strategic formations at the Force Headquarters and specialised departments.
Among them are: CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to the Force Intelligence Department (FID), Abuja; CP Charles Ezekwesiri Dike to INTERPOL at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID); CP Uduak Ita Otu to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos; and CP Taiwo A. Adedeji to the Counter Terrorism Unit at the Force Headquarters.
Others affected include; CP Ajayi Oluyemi, CP Bolanle Aremu, CP Ibrahim Lukunche Usman, CP Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, CP Rita Oyintare Oki, CP Ibrahim Umar D. Zungura, CP Nelson Nwamana, CP Akingbade C. Adeyinka, CP Darma Nuhu Na’aliyu, CP Mohammed Yakubu, and CP Danbaba Mohammed Labbo, who were assigned to various administrative, intelligence, training, finance, anti-fraud, welfare, and investigative units of the Force.
Charging the newly deployed Commissioners to justify the confidence reposed in them, IGP Disu urged the officers to leverage their experience in strengthening intelligence gathering, improving operational efficiency, promoting professionalism, and fostering stronger community engagement.
He further tasked them to remain resolute in safeguarding lives and property while upholding the highest standards of discipline, accountability, and quality service delivery.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated that the strategic personnel deployments form part of its broader reform agenda designed to enhance internal capacity, improve operational efficiency, and provide more effective policing services to Nigerians nationwide.
