A tragic incident has been reported on Abak Road, where a young commercial motorcyclist was allegedly killed after a tree fell on him while riding.

The incident occurred this morning, opposite the Cultural Centre in Uyo. According to eyewitness reports, the victim was on his motorcycle when the tree suddenly fell on him, resulting in his death.

The police have been urged to visit the scene, confirm the incident and take necessary action.

The incident has also renewed concerns over the need for relevant authorities to inspect and properly maintain trees along major roads to prevent similar occurrences.
