Falconets head coach, Moses Aduku, says his players are fully prepared for today’s 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup clash against Spain.
Aduku made this known ahead of the Group F encounter scheduled to hold at Stadion Sosnowiec. Kick-off is set for 4pm Nigerian time.
The coach acknowledged the quality of the Spanish side, who are former champions at this level. However, he insisted that Nigeria will not be intimidated and will go into the match with a winning mentality.
“We respect Spain, but we are here to compete. We will approach this match like a Cup final because every point matters at this stage,” Aduku said.
According to him, the team has worked on tactical discipline, fitness and mental strength in the build-up to the tournament. He added that the players are eager to make Nigerians proud on the global stage.
Aduku noted that securing victory against Spain would put the Falconets in a strong position to progress from Group F. The group also has China PR and debutants New Caledonia, who will face each other in the other group match later today.
The Falconets are making their 11th appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup and will be hoping to improve on their quarter-final finish in the last edition held in Colombia. The team arrived Poland last week after a final training camp in Germany.
