Fintiri Walks Out of PDP Convention Over Calls to Expel Wike, Urges PDP Unity

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has distanced himself from the controversial move to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Governor Nyesom Wike, from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement released at the weekend in Gongola, Governor Fintiri described the decision as detrimental to the party and warned against actions that could deepen divisions within the PDP.

“I categorically dissociate myself from the position of expelling Honourable Minister Wike from the PDP.

“I believe that this decision is not in the best interest of the party, and I will not be party to any attempt that could further plunge the PDP into unending crisis,” Fintiri said.

The governor, a faithful party member, emphasized his commitment to peace and reconciliation, urging stakeholders to prioritize unity and cohesion.

  1. Fintiri further stated unequivocally that, “As a party man, I am committed to supporting efforts that promote peace, stability, and progress within the PDP”.

Fintiri reiterated that his stance is guided by a desire to foster reconciliation and strengthen the party, appealing to all members to work towards healing divisions and ensuring the PDP remains united.
