Hon. Ubong Wilson Nkutt, the Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council, is a shining example of this philosophy in action. A standout example of his commitment to progress is the commissioning of an ultra-modern office complex by His Excellency Governor Umo Eno, during the Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency Town Square Meeting that took place on Thursday, 8th May, 2025 at Itu Local Government Council Secretariat, Mbak Atai.
This landmark project, situated at the Council Secretariat in Mbak Atai boasts 30 fully furnished ensuite offices. It is an eloquent demonstration of Hon. Nkutt’s dedication to providing a conducive and efficient work environment for council staffers and political office holders.
The physically elated Governor speaking shortly after he commissioned the edifice linked the architectural beauty of the facility to the Akwa Ibom State Government House in Uyo.
“Let me thank the Chairman of this local government. When I arrived, he took me to commission the administrative block of this local government. That block is as beautiful as the Government House Uyo. Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for the work you have done”. These were the exact words of His Excellency!
The ultra-modern office complex is more than just a physical structure; it represents a significant upgrade in the working conditions of the local government workforce. With other improved infrastructure within the Council such as surface dressing of internal roads, remodelled perimeter fencing complete with gate house and gates, as well as solar-powered street lighting, this development is set to enhance productivity and efficiency. It provides a dignified workspace for political office holders and senior civil servants, enabling them to serve the people of Itu Local Government Area more effectively.
This project aligns perfectly with the ARISE AGENDA of the Pastor Umo Eno-led administration in Akwa Ibom State, which emphasizes infrastructure development, good governance, and social welfare. Hon. Nkutt’s initiatives across these areas demonstrate his commitment to synergizing with state-level policies for the betterment of Itu Local Government Area. From grading rural roads to empowering youths and women through skills acquisition programs, his administration has shown a holistic approach to development.
