Gov. Eno Dedicates National Excellence Award to Akwa Ibom People, Calls Honour “Inspiration to Do More”

Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has described his recent Distinguished Award for Excellence in Sustainable Development and Community Empowerment, received at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) as a powerful motivation to further advance the State’s development agenda.

Speaking to journalists on arrival in Uyo, Governor Eno dedicated the award to the people of Akwa Ibom, stressing that the recognition reflects collective effort rather than individual accomplishment.

“For me, the award comes as an inspiration and a reminder that the world is watching us, and I am thankful to God,” emphasizing that, the honour was made possible by the unwavering support of Akwa Ibom citizens.

According to him, “It’s not about me; it is about everyone that has helped us to realize our vision. A vision can be cast by one person, but it takes a whole lot of people to make the vision succeed. It is a collective award; an award for Akwa Ibom people”, and prayed for God’s continued guidance to enable his administration to fulfill its promises to the people.

The Governor also extended warm birthday wishes to the President of the 10th Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who marked his birthday on December 9.

He prayed for long life, good health, and divine wisdom for the Senate President, affirming the support of Akwa Ibom people for his leadership and future political ambitions.

“All of us here at home will continue to support him in the Senate, and also for his re-election in 2027 to continue his good work with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Governor Eno said.
