Gov. Eno Hails Akwa Ibom Officers’ Rise to Top Military Ranks

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has congratulated Major General Ime Okon Bassey, Air Vice Marshal Patrick James Edem and Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Cletus Ukpong on their recent promotion to senior ranks in the Nigerian Armed Forces.

In a congratulatory message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ekerete Udoh, the Governor described the elevation of the officers as a clear testament to their dedication, professionalism and outstanding service to the nation.

“Let me, on behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, congratulate our sons, Major General Ime Okon Bassey, Air Vice Marshal Patrick James Edem and Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Cletus Ukpong, on their well-deserved promotion,” the Governor said.

Governor Eno noted that, the newly promoted officers have become role models and sources of inspiration for young Nigerians, particularly those from Akwa Ibom State, by exemplifying the ideals of selfless and patriotic service to their fatherland.

“You are beacons of light for our young ones, and I am hopeful that they will be inspired to see the ennobling ideal in selfless and patriotic service to their country,” he added.

The Governor further expressed confidence that, the officers would continue to uphold the virtues of discipline, loyalty, integrity and excellence, which he described as defining characteristics of the Akwa Ibom people, while serving the nation with honour and distinction.

He urged the newly elevated senior officers to sustain their commitment to national service by supporting and implementing the security vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through their respective Service Chiefs, in order to confront Nigeria’s security challenges with renewed vigor and determination.
