Governor Eno Empowers Physically Impaired Man with Home and Business Grant

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commenced the delivery of another phase of Arise Compassionate Homes across the 31 local government areas of the state. The governor made this known while presenting a tastefully furnished two-bedroom bungalow and a N500,000 business grant to a physically impaired man, Mr. Sunday Etim, in Nsit Atai local government area.

Governor Eno, represented by Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga, reiterated his commitment to uplifting the downtrodden. He disclosed that six homes have been completed in Nsit Atai, with more to come, as part of his administration’s efforts to complete 400 homes across the state’s 368 wards before 2027.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, described the Arise Compassionate Home as a fully furnished residence equipped with solar-powered amenities and a detached kitchenette. The beneficiary, Mr. Sunday Etim, expressed gratitude for the gesture, which he said would improve his living conditions and provide a better future for his family.

The event drew stakeholders, community leaders, and well-wishers from Nsit Atai and beyond, who praised the governor’s development initiatives in the area. The Chairman of Nsit Atai local government area, Hon. Tony Nyong, commended Governor Eno for his projects, including the Primary Health Center, road constructions, and model primary school.

The Personal Assistant to the Governor on Persons Living with Disabilities, Comrade Ubong Ikpe, hailed Governor Eno as an “apostle of inclusion,” noting that his administration has appointed persons living with disabilities and enrolled over 3,000 in the ARISE Care Programme.
