The father to the Ibom Air passenger, whose private video went viral after an in-flight altercation, Mr. Godwin Emmanson has expressed outrage over the release of the video footage, describing it as a grave violation of his daughter’s dignity.
In an emotional outburst, he lamented: “I am not happy that the whole world is seeing my daughter’s breast on the internet.
“I suffered to train her in school, and now her privacy has been stripped away for all to see. Is it because I am a poor man? Whoever released that video must be held accountable.”
He further demanded compensation for the daughter, insisting that, the incident had caused irreparable damage to her image and brought pain to the family.
The scandal has continued to spark outrage nationwide, with calls mounting for Ibom Air and aviation authorities to sanction those responsible for the circulation of the indecent video.
Earlier, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), had condemned the circulation of indecent footage showing unruly passenger, Comfort Emmanson, during an incident aboard an Ibom Air flight.
Keyamo, in a statement on Saturday, described the release of the sensitive material as “totally unacceptable,” insisting that any staff member responsible for leaking the footage must be identified and sanctioned.
“Whilst we support the filming of her recalcitrant behaviour as evidence to prosecute her, what is deplorable is to release such evidence containing indecent exposure to the public to ridicule her. That is totally unacceptable to us. We will not fold our arms and tolerate the debasing of womanhood,” the minister said.
The Minister had directed airline companies to intensify training of staffers in public relations and crisis management to fostall future incidences.
