Military Operation Dislodges IPOB/ESN Camp in Abia

A successful raid operation was conducted by troops of the 144 Battalion (Reserve) under the command of HQ 14 Brigade on May 25, 2025, in the Ebubengwa/Abayi Nchokoro community of Ugwunagbo Local Government Area. The operation, codenamed “OP UDO KA,” resulted in the complete destruction of the notorious IPOB/ESN camp and the dissemination of their firepower.

During the operation, the troops recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, including:

– 1 x RPG

– 1 x GPMG

– 4 x AK-47 rifles

– 1 x G3 rifle

– 3 x pump-action guns

– 800 rounds of 7.62mm special ammo

– 648 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammo

– 2 x generators

– 1 x chain sewing machine

– 4 x laptops

– 4 x CCTV cameras

– 1 x cooking gas cylinder

– 6 x bags of rice

– 20 liters of groundnut oil

– 22 x mobile phones

– 2 x external hard drives

– 1 x WiFi router

– 62 x local charm vests

– 2 x tyres

– 1 x machete

– ₦11,750,000 and $27,000 in cash

 

The troops engaged in a gun duel with the terrorists, resulting in blood trails and an unconfirmed number of casualties. Unfortunately, the troops suffered one killed in action and two wounded in action, including one officer and one soldier. The corpse has been deposited at the Federal Medical Center Umuahia, and the wounded soldiers are responding to treatment.

The troops discovered a big shrine used for spiritual activities and five vehicles in the camp, including SUVs, buses, and motorcycles. The entire camp, including the shrine and all vehicles, was destroyed and set ablaze.

The Commander of 144 Brigade, who visited the troops at their location, commended them for their success and urged them to maintain the momentum.The situation remains cool and calm but unpredictable. The troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain satisfactory, and maximum vigilance is being maintained.
