Nigerian Special Forces Score Major Victory Against Boko Haram/ISWAP in Borno State

*SPECIAL FORCES UNDER OPERATION HADIN KAI ELIMINATE KEY BOKO HARAM/ISWAP LEADER AMIR, ABU FATIMA AND HIS LIEUTENANTS IN KUKAWA BORNO STATE

In a significant counter-terrorism operation, Special Forces under Operation HADIN KAI conducted a precision strike on May 30, 2025, targeting a key Boko Haram/ISWAP stronghold in the Kukawa axis of Northern Borno State. The operation, based on credible intelligence, aimed to neutralize notorious terrorist commander Amir Abu Fatima, who had a ₦100 million bounty on his head.

During the intense exchange of fire, Abu Fatima was fatally wounded by gunfire. His deputy, several explosives’ experts, and multiple other terrorists were also eliminated in the confrontation. The successful operation dealt a significant blow to the terrorist group’s leadership and operational capabilities in the region.

Troops recovered several AK-47 rifles, magazines, assorted ordnance, and IED-making materials during the operation. The recovery of these arms and ammunition further weakens the terrorist group’s ability to carry out attacks and poses a significant challenge to their survival.

No Casualties on Nigerian Forces, the mission was completed without casualties on the Nigerian forces, demonstrating the professionalism and tactical expertise of the Special Forces. This successful operation showcases the military’s commitment to protecting the lives of its personnel while achieving strategic objectives.
