Saviour Peter Udoh Elevated As Substantive GM, AK-RUWASA, Tasks Ahead on Rural Water Reforms

UYO – The Akwa Ibom State Government has officially confirmed Mr. Saviour Peter Udoh as the substantive General Manager of the Akwa Ibom State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (AK-RUWASA), elevating him from his previous position as Acting General Manager.

The appointment, which comes as recognition of his dedication, professionalism and strong leadership capacity, has been widely applauded within public service circles and among development stakeholders in the state.

Until his elevation, Mr. Udoh had steered the agency in an acting capacity, during which he demonstrated a clear commitment to advancing the state’s rural water supply and sanitation agenda, ensuring that communities have improved access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion.

Colleagues describe his confirmation as “a well-deserved recognition of hard work and competence,” while development partners have expressed optimism that his leadership will usher in a new phase of reforms, project expansion and sustainability in rural communities.

As substantive General Manager, Mr. Udoh is expected to consolidate ongoing efforts of the Governor Umo Eno-led administration in tackling challenges of water access and sanitation, aligning with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Nigeria’s national rural development priorities.

His elevation, stakeholders say, is both a call to duty and a vote of confidence from the state government, placing him at the center of one of the most critical aspects of rural development in Akwa Ibom.
