
The political landscape of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District witnessed a clear statement of loyalty and confidence as stakeholders, party faithful in Ndot/Ikot Okoro Ward 4 turned out in their numbers to support Senator Godswill Akpabio at the recent APC primaries.

The ward which is the largest in Akwa Ibom with 28 villages, known for its strong grassroots mobilization and commitment to progressive politics, delivered a resounding 2325 votes, that underscored Akpabio’s enduring connection with the people at the grassroots. From early hours of the day, party members, youth groups, women leaders, and elders gathered at the polling center, patiently awaiting their turn to affirm their choice.
Speaking after the exercise, party leaders in the ward described the turnout as a reflection of the trust the people have in Akpabio’s track record of delivering infrastructure, human capital development, and political representation that puts Akwa Ibom first. “This is not just a vote for a candidate. It is a vote for continuity, for experience, and for a voice that can speak powerfully for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District at the national level,” one of the ward leaders Mr Morgan Ekanem stated.
Senator Akpabio, a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and Senate President, of the 10th Senate has remained a central figure in APC politics in the South-South. His emergence as the APC candidate for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District following the primaries sets the stage for what party members describe as a campaign anchored on proven performance and grassroots support.
The massive turnout in Ndot/Ikot Okoro Ward 4 is being hailed within the party as a sign of the ward’s readiness to work for victory in the general election. Party officials noted that the unity and organization displayed during the primaries will be key as the APC moves into the next phase of its campaign.
With the ticket now secured, attention shifts to consolidating support across the ten local government areas of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District ahead of the general elections.
