UYO – President Bola Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Akwa Ibom State, securing a landslide total of 389,197 votes in the exercise held across the state.

The result was officially declared at the State Collation Centre located at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, by the State Collation and Returning Officer, Pastor Umo Eno.

Announcing the outcome, Pastor Eno congratulated President Tinubu on what he described as an overwhelming victory and commended the people of Akwa Ibom for the peaceful conduct that characterized the primary election across the state.

He urged members of the APC to begin mobilising support ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the party would record a resounding victory at the polls.

Speaking shortly after the declaration, Senate President Godswill Akpabio lauded Governor Umo Eno for fostering peace and political harmony in the state, noting that the atmosphere surrounding the APC primaries was unprecedented in Akwa Ibom’s political history.

Akpabio recalled that previous party primaries in the state were often marred by violence, intimidation, bloodshed, harassment, and killings, but noted that the current exercise was conducted peacefully without any major incident.

According to the Senate President, Akwa Ibom people have never had it so good under Governor Eno’s administration, insisting that the growing support for the governor’s second term bid was driven by his performance and commitment to sustaining peace and development across the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of APC, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, congratulated both Senator Akpabio and Governor Eno on their successful emergence as candidates of the party for their respective positions.

Ntukekpo assured them of the unwavering support of the party structure ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, commended Governor Eno for ensuring a peaceful and transparent conduct of the party primaries across the state.

He attributed the success of the exercise to the collaboration and mutual understanding between Governor Eno and Senate President Akpabio, describing their working relationship as beneficial to both the APC and Akwa Ibom State as a whole.
