The Federal Government is set to pay the outstanding five months’ arrears of the N35,000 wage award to federal government workers. According to a statement by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), the payment will be made in installments.
The OAGF explained that the Federal Government had previously paid five months’ worth of the wage award to federal employees in installments. The outstanding arrears will now be paid in five monthly installments of N35,000 each.
The first installment of the arrears is expected to be paid immediately after the April 2025 salary payment. The OAGF clarified that the wage award arrears will not be included in the April salary payment.
The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to fully implementing all policies and agreements regarding staff remuneration and welfare to enhance productivity and efficiency.
This development is expected to bring relief to federal government workers who have been awaiting the payment of their outstanding wage award arrears.
