The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State has fired back on the illegal convention in Ibadan, Oyo State on Saturday reaffirming its cohesion and organizational stability in the state.

State Chairman of PDP, Hon. Aniekan Akpan disclosed this in Uyo on Saturday declaring that, the authentic party structure in the state remains firmly under his leadership.

In a statement issued in Uyo, the party stakeholders emphasized that the PDP in Akwa Ibom maintains a unified and coordinated structure from the ward level through to the state executive, all solidly aligned with Akpan’s leadership.

They dismissed recent activities reportedly taking place in Ibadan, describing them as inconsequential and unconnected to the party’s official processes.

According to the statement, the gathering in Ibadan should be disregarded, as it does not represent any legitimate PDP procedure.

“The real PDP structure in Akwa Ibom State is led by Rt. (Hon.) Elder Aniekan Akpan as Chairman, and the entire structure from the wards to the state level stands firmly behind him.

“Please disregard whatever is done in Ibadan, as the PDP will soon hold its official convention, not a Christmas get-together party masquerading as one.”

Party officials assured members that preparations are already underway for the authentic PDP national convention, urging supporters to remain steadfast and not be swayed by unauthorized assemblies.
