The All Progressives Congress, APC, has taken a swipe at the Senator David Mark-led faction of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, asking the party to go and sort out its internal mess and leadership crisis which was allegedly scuttled by its own pirate leaders, instead of blaming the ruling party for its woes and judicial misfortunes.
The ruling party made the scathing remarks in a strongly worded press statement issued on Thursday, November 6, 2026, by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, in Abuja, in reaction to recent accusations and allegations by the ADC that the APC was colluding with the judiciary to destabilize the opposition party and frustrate its activities.
According to the APC, every time a court of competent jurisdiction delivers a judgment that goes against the Senator David Mark-led factional leadership of the African Democratic Congress, the party is quick to accuse the All Progressives Congress of collusion, conspiracy and interference, and to deprecate, disparage and attack the integrity of the judiciary as an institution.
The APC noted that on the contrary, every time a court decides in favour of the ADC, the same party that accuses the judiciary of bias and compromise is quick to hail the rule of law, commend the judiciary and extol the judges for their courage, independence and commitment to justice, describing such attitude as hypocritical, inconsistent and opportunistic.
The ruling party described the behaviour of the ADC as the habitual folly, political immaturity and self-deception of a vessel of a party that has been completely scuttled, hijacked and destroyed by its own pirate leaders who have no regard for internal democracy, due process and the rule of law in the management of party affairs and leadership succession.
The APC stated that the ADC touts, parades and propagates its desire, ambition and desperation to win power and govern democratic Nigeria in 2027 without showing any iota of regard, respect and reverence for the authority, independence, sanctity and indispensability of the judiciary, which remains an indispensable pillar, foundation and cornerstone of any democracy.
In their warped, distorted and self-serving reckoning and political calculation, the APC said, only courts and judges that side with them, rule in their favour and endorse their illegality are worthy of commendation, while those that rule differently, based on law and facts, are considered a menace, threat and danger to society and democracy, which is senselessness in the extreme.
The All Progressives Congress explained that the court judgment that has now sent the African Democratic Congress into a tailspin, confusion and disarray had to do with a notorious, self-inflicted case that was initiated by leaders of the ADC against pirate leaders of the same ADC, who allegedly hijacked the party through a brazen, undemocratic and unconstitutional process.
To be clear and for the avoidance of doubt, the APC stated emphatically that the ruling party is neither a party, nor an interlocutor, nor a participant, nor an interested party in the matter that is currently tearing the ADC apart, stressing that nothing about the case, either directly or remotely, has anything to do with the All Progressives Congress.
The APC further stressed that the ruling party has absolutely no role, no hand and no involvement in the party’s judicial quagmire, legal predicament and self-inflicted leadership crisis that has now resulted in the nullification of its leadership and primary election processes by a court of competent jurisdiction in the country.
The APC disclosed that the case that led to the latest judgment resulted from a legal challenge, action and suit that was brought by aggrieved national officers of the ADC who were victimized, sidelined, oppressed and illegally removed by the bare-faced heist, hostile takeover and forceful hijack of the party’s leadership by David Mark and his co-pirates.
According to the APC, the hijack of the ADC leadership by Senator David Mark and his group was done to satisfy the quixotic, inordinate and desperate presidential ambition of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is now believed to be using the ADC platform to pursue his long-standing ambition to become President of Nigeria at all costs.
The ruling party said it didn’t matter to David Mark, Atiku Abubakar and their co-travellers that their hostile takeover, forceful hijack and brazen heist of that party was in flagrant, brazen and total violation of the rule of law, due process, democratic norms and the ADC’s internal democracy, constitution and guidelines for leadership succession and change.
The APC noted that the illegality of the takeover has now been judicially confirmed and declared by a court of competent jurisdiction, which has now sacked the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC and consequentially nullified all official acts, decisions, actions and processes carried out by the illegitimate party leadership since the hijack.
Now that the court has spoken, the APC said, the ADC leaders lash out in a fit of rage, anger and frustration at the court and innocent spectators, including the APC, for the judicial outcome that was the inevitable, logical and natural consequence of their own reckless, irresponsible and lawless political misadventure and brigandage.
The ruling party said the ADC leaders now rave, rant, wail and rant senselessly, peddle conspiracy theories, blackmail, propaganda and falsehood, but take no responsibility, no accountability and no blame for the self-inflicted injury, self-imposed crisis and self-created leadership problem that the court only judicially certified and confirmed.
The APC drew attention to yesterday’s judgment delivered by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which sacked the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC and consequentially nullified all official acts of the illegitimate party leadership, including its primary election processes, nomination procedures and outcomes for the 2027 general elections.
The APC stated that the judgment was not procured by the ruling party, but was procured, attracted and occasioned by their own lawlessness, impunity, disregard for the rule of law and flagrant violation of their own party constitution, and that the judgment demonstrates the vibrancy, independence, courage and resilience of the rule of law in Nigeria.
The ruling party maintained that the judgment of Justice Peter Lifu is a clear testimony and eloquent proof that the judiciary in Nigeria is independent, impartial, courageous and committed to upholding the rule of law, protecting internal party democracy and ensuring that political parties operate in accordance with their own constitutions and the laws of the land.
The APC advised that if the ADC is dissatisfied, aggrieved and unhappy with the decision of the Federal High Court that sacked its factional leadership, it should exercise its constitutional right of appeal as provided for in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, rather than engage in partisan mudslinging and baseless accusations.
The party said instead of towing the path of law and due process by going on appeal, the ADC has resorted to engaging in partisan mudslinging, character assassination and unprovoked attacks against the APC, which is a great party that is focused on governance, and issuing threats to incite anarchy and chaos against the same Nigerians they claim they desire to govern.
The APC described the ADC as a decrepit, disorganized, disoriented and dying party that has been hijacked by political pirates and power mongers who have no clear ideology, vision, programme or agenda for the country, but are only interested in grabbing power through the backdoor and undemocratic means without due process and internal democracy.
The ruling party said the ADC continues to prove itself, through its actions, utterances and conduct, as grossly unfit, unprepared, unqualified and unserious to be taken seriously by Nigerians, who are politically sophisticated, discerning and aware of the antics, shenanigans and desperation of politicians who seek power for personal aggrandizement.
The APC noted that Nigerians are unperturbed, undistracted and unmoved by the irresponsible, reckless and dangerous rhetoric, threats and propaganda being peddled by the ADC and its leaders, who have now resorted to blackmailing the judiciary and the ruling party because their illegal leadership has been sacked by the court for violating the law.
The ruling party stated that a party that cannot fix itself, cannot put its house in order, cannot manage its internal affairs, cannot respect its own constitution and cannot resolve its internal crisis cannot possibly fix Africa’s most important, most populous and most strategic country like Nigeria, which requires serious, organized and disciplined leadership.
The APC said the ADC should first go and sort out its internal mess, reconcile its warring factions, respect the rule of law, obey court judgments and restore internal democracy before dreaming of fixing Nigeria, as Nigerians cannot entrust their destiny and future into the hands of a party that is already scuttled by its own pirate leaders.
The All Progressives Congress, through its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, reassured Nigerians that the ruling party and the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration remain fully committed, dedicated and unwavering in their resolve to preserve, protect and deepen Nigeria’s democracy, uphold the rule of law and ensure good governance for all Nigerians.
The APC said the party and the administration remain focused on delivering dividends of democracy, implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda, transforming the economy, securing lives and property and improving the welfare of Nigerians, and will not be distracted by the antics, blackmail and propaganda of the opposition parties who have nothing to offer.
The ruling party said it remains unfazed, undeterred and unmoved by the wolf cries, crocodile tears and alarmist rhetoric of a drowning, sinking and disintegrating opposition that has lost touch with reality and is now clutching at straws in a desperate attempt to remain relevant in the political landscape of the country ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement concluded by advising the ADC to stop blaming innocent parties and institutions for its self-inflicted woes, to respect the judiciary, to obey the rule of law and to go and put its house in order, as the APC has no hand in its internal crisis and will continue to focus on governance and delivering on its mandate to the Nigerian people.
