Oluremi Tinubu: Our Diversity is a Blessing That Must Be Used Positively to Build Our Nation

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the Nigerian President, has described Nigeria’s diversity as a blessing that must be used positively to build a strong and prosperous nation. She made this statement during a visit to traditional rulers in Enugu state, where she also advocated for health initiatives, including support against cervical cancer, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and Female Genital Mutilation.

Mrs. Tinubu emphasized the importance of traditional rulers aligning with her vision to promote health and wellbeing at the grassroots level. She highlighted upcoming programs under the Renewed Hope initiative, aimed at promoting girls’ education and environmental restoration.

The First Lady also distributed professional kits to midwives in the South East Geopolitical Zone, concluding the distribution of scrubs and crocs to the six geopolitical zones. Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state praised Mrs. Tinubu’s responsiveness to pressing health issues, describing her as the “Florence Nightingale of this time.” The event also included the presentation of a grant to support women petty traders in Enugu State.
