Unprecedented Political Endorsement in Cross River State  — In what has been described as the largest political endorsement gathering in the history of Cross River State, over 30,000 supporters converged in Calabar to declare their backing for Governor Bassey Otu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging both leaders to seek a second term in office.

The historic event, organized by the Cross River South Consultative Forum, drew participants from across the state, including youths, women, traditional rulers, political stakeholders, and community leaders. Attendees came from all local government areas of the Southern Senatorial District and beyond, representing a broad coalition of political and interest groups.

According to the organizers, the gathering served not only as an expression of gratitude to the Governor but also as a formal and united appeal for him to continue in office beyond 2027. They noted that the Southern Senatorial District, which currently occupies the governorship position under the state’s zoning arrangement, remains appreciative of the overwhelming support from other regions.

This marks the first time in the state’s political history that such a massive and early endorsement is being made, even before Governor Otu has officially declared his intention to seek re-election.
