Rivers Sole Administrator Ibas fails to appear before Reps Panel

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has failed to appear before the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on Rivers State Oversight for the second time despite being invited. The committee had rescheduled the meeting to April 24 after Ibas requested a postponement, but he did not attend.

Ibas’s absence is notable, as he was reportedly in Abuja for the National Economic Council meeting. The committee’s session aimed to discuss developments in Rivers State since Ibas assumed office. However, without explanation, Ibas did not show up, and the committee chairman, Rep. Julius Ihonvbere, declined to comment.

The meeting has now been postponed indefinitely, leaving uncertainty about when or if it will take place.
