In continuation of sports undying spirit, Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has honoured Super Falcons defender, Tosin Demehin, with a whopping ₦30 million and a house at Sunshine Estate, Akure, for her stellar performance at the just concluded WAFCON 2025, where Nigeria lifted the trophy.

Chief Press Secretary to Ondo State Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan said, the Governor announced the donations at a grand civic reception in Akure on August 4.

The Governor also splashed ₦15 million each to two other Ondo indigenes on the Falcons team; Mary Akinsola, Media Officer and Mary Oduboku who was the Team Secretary.

According to the Governor, “Tosin has made Ondo State proud. This is our way of saying thank you”, reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment and sports development in the State.

Governor Aiyedatiwa used the occasion to promise full support to the State – owned Sunshine Stars FC to ensure their return to the NPFL.

Tosin, hailing from Ilaje LGA and a former Sunshine Queens player, was deeply moved saying, “This support gives hope to many young girls like me. Thank you, Ondo State”.

Dignitaries in attendance during the reception included; the Deputy Governor, top state officials, and sports stakeholders.
