A renowned Akwa Ibom – Lagos based gospel artiste, Aity Dennis Inyang has been appointed Honourary Special Adviser on Creative Industry to the Akwa Inom State Government.
6 Her appointment, which takes immediate effect from November 1, 2025 was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah.
Governor Umo Eno, who approved the appointment enjoined Mrs. Inyang to adhere strictly to the Code of Conduct for Public Officers, as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
Inyang, who is a celebrated figure in the Nigerian creative music scene, is acclaimed for promoting Akwa Ibom’s indigenous languages and culture through her music like the late Chritiana Essie -Igbokwe.
Prior to this appointment, her gospel music career had spanned decades, having recorded more than 4,000 songs and served for over ten years as an Artiste Manager of the state’s iconic Christmas Carols Festival.
Aity Inyang, holds a Bachelor’s degree in French, Master’s degree in Mass Communication, and Honourary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) degree in Christian Leadership.
Her appointment, observers say is a strategic move to further strengthen Akwa Ibom’s growing creative and cultural economy.
