UYO – Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has charged the newly sworn-in Statistician-General, Mr. Uduak Effiong Isaac, to overhaul the state’s data architecture to accelerate regional development.

Speaking during the inauguration on Monday at Government House, Uyo, Governor Eno directed the new appointee to submit comprehensive monthly statistical reports on the state’s socio-economic landscape.

The Governor emphasized that the administration’s flagship ARISE Agenda must be anchored on verifiable, concrete metrics.

Expressing confidence in Isaac’s selection, Eno stressed that Akwa Ibom requires a seasoned professional capable of generating robust data and defending its accuracy on any platform.

Mr. Isaac, who retains his position as Permanent Secretary for Human Capital Development, brings a track record of performance.

Governor Eno recalled that Isaac’s meticulous documentation of state initiatives paved the way for Vice President Kashim Shettima’s 2025 visit to launch Phase II of the National Human Capital Development (HCD) programme, a metric where Akwa Ibom clinched the top spot nationally.

Calling on all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to extend total cooperation to the new office, Governor Eno expressed optimism that Isaac’s expertise would yield immediate, measurable results.

Speaking to journalists post-inauguration, Mr. Isaac expressed gratitude to the Governor for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to discharge his duties with diligence, professionalism, and integrity.

He assured stakeholders that his office would deliver credible, reliable data to accurately chart the state’s development agenda.
