House Of Reps. Minority Whip Resigns From PDP

Minority Whip of the Federal House of Representatives and member representing Billiri/Balanga Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Hon. Ali Isa has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Isa resigned his PDP membership a couple of days ago following the unresolved leadership tussle rocking the party.

In a resignation letter dated 14th April, 2026 and addressed to the PDP chairman of his ward, Kindiyo, in Balanga local government, the lawmaker said the resignation takes effect immediately.

“My decision was compelled by the way and manner some undemocratic forces have hijacked the party for reasons that are contrary to the founding principles and philosophy of the party which created a factional leadership”, he said.

However, the lawmaker has not announced his next political party but insisted that the path to his political future lies outside the PDP.
