D’Tigress of Nigeria will face France, Hungary and South Korea in the group stage of the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, with the teams unveiling their squads ahead of the competition.
According to reports, the tournament is scheduled to take place in Berlin, Germany, from September 4 to 13, 2026.
D’Tigress will be looking to make a strong impact in Berlin as they face three challenging opponents in what promises to be a competitive group stage.
Meanwhile, France, Hungary and South Korea have also assembled their squads ahead of the tournament.
The D’Tigress are not just the only Women Basketball team in the country to make a big statement, Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress have also booked their place in the semi-finals of the U18 AfroBasket Championship after a convincing 75-45 victory over Cameroon in the quarter-finals.
The Nigerian side produced a strong all-round performance to overwhelm Cameroon and secure a 30-point victory.
Favour Joy Anari led the charge with 16 points and eight assists, while Zainab Adelaja contributed 13 points.
The victory sends the Junior D’Tigress into the semi-finals, where they will continue their quest for the continental title.
